Glendale Water and Power (GWP) in the US has selected Efacec ACS to provide its PRISM advanced outage management (OMS) and distribution management (DMS) solutions for the utility.
Efacec ACS will deliver the OMS and DMS as part of the municipal utility’s progressive Smart Grid program.
The OMS and DMS will be installed as an extension of the Efacec ACS PRISM SCADA system already in place at the utility.
GWP general manager and CEO Glenn Steiger said the installation of the PRISM advanced DMS will help to fully leverage the investments we’ve made in automating the utility’s distribution network, and enable it to provide enhanced outage response and service to its customers.
Based on Efacec ACS’ PRISM platform, the GWP system will be delivered with advanced distribution applications such as optimal switching, fault detection isolation and restoration, dispatcher power flow, and integrated volt/VAR control.
