Edison Mission Group (EMG) and Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) have commenced construction on a new 42MW wind project in Nebraska, US.

The Crofton Bluffs project, which is located in Knox County, will deploy 22 wind turbines capable of producing about 42MW of electricity.

NPPD, through a 20-year power purchase agreement, will buy all of the power produced by the wind project.

The electricity generated by the facility is enough to meet the needs of about 14,000 homes in Nebraska.

NPPD is collaborating with Omaha Public Power District and other Nebraska utilities as partners in the power project.

NPPD also signed the power purchase agreements for another three wind energy projects developed by EMG in Nebraska.

Construction of Crofton Bluffs project is planned for completion by year end.
