Edge Electronics, Inc. (Edge Electronics) has signed a distribution agreement with Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (Samsung Semiconductor). The agreement gives distributorship rights to the company to distribute all four categories of Samsung Semiconductor components throughout North America. Edge Electronics has been customizing and supplying the semiconductors for 18 years across telecom, security, military, industrial, consumer and other electronics markets.

According to Edge Electronics president and chief executive officer, Adrienne Giannone, “This agreement is a win-win. Edge Electronics becomes a distributor for one of the most recognizable names and innovative product lines in electronics, while Samsung gains a new type of channel through which to sell its products, one that will give customers the attention and flexibility of a small business partner.” Also, Edge is categorized as a woman-owned small business, and works closely with customers who have supplier diversity programs.

This experience enhances the company’s ability to excel at selling Samsung DRAM, Flash, SRAM, microcontrollers, Solid State Drives (SSDs), Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), and Optical Disk Drives (ODDs) in specific markets.

Samsung Semiconductor’s LCD business is also an obvious fit, given the company’s wide display solutions program, which already features a specialized offering of small-to medium-sized LCDs, with related enhancements and accessories. Growth in this program has come at a excited pace over the last five years, and the addition of Samsung Semiconductor’s large panels opens up a larger market for the company to continue that growth. Specifically, the company plans to emphasize Samsung Semiconductor’s Digital Information Display (DID) line of 40-inch–and-above (diagonal) LCDs.
