EDF Energies Nouvelles has been selected by Hydro-Quebec Distribution to build five wind farms with 954MW in total capacity in Quebec, Canada.

Located in different regions of Quebec, the five wind farms, namely Aguanish – 80MW, Massif du Sud – 150MW, Lac Alfred – 300MW, Riviere du Moulin – 350MW and Clermont – 74MW, are due to be commissioned between year-end 2011 and year-end 2015.

The wind farms will be equipped with REpower turbines, each with 2MW in unit capacity. These five wind farms represent a total investment of C$2 billion, which will contribute to the Quebec economy.
