French renewable energy firm EDF Energies Nouvelles has announced the commissioning of the Imerovigli wind farm with 30MW in installed capacity on the island of Kefalonia, Greece.

EDF Energies Nouvelles said that the wind farm, located in the Ionian islands, has been developed by EEN Hellas, EDF Energies Nouvelles’s Greek subsidiary.

The wind farm is equipped with 10 wind turbines supplied by Danish manufacturer Vestas, each with 3MW in unit capacity. The facility is 90%-owned by EEN Hellas.

Its commissioning follows the announcement in September 2007 that the Perdikovouni and Kalyva plants with 36MW in total capacity had entered service. With the addition of this latest wind farm, EDF Energies Nouvelles owns 137MW of net capacity in Greece and is pursuing rapid expansion in the country.
