Scope of the contract includes operation and maintenance for the turbines and balance of plant alongside project oversight and continuous remote monitoring from its NERC compliant Operations Control Center.
Located in Huron and Sanilac counties the 110.4 MW Thumb Wind Project and the 112 MW Echo Wind Project both employ 1.6MW turbines from General Electric (GE).
EDF business development director Dalen Copeland said that the company is committed to expanding the Detroit Edison portfolio.

DTE Energy renewables program manager Tom Komjathy noted, "The two wind projects in the Thumb show we’re making great progress toward meeting the state’s renewable energy goals."
