Electricité de France has ordered a Power Quality Industrial Voltage Restorer (PQ-IVR) unit from American Superconductor. The PQ-IVR is based on American Superconductor’s superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) technology.
The system will be installed at a demonstration site near Paris in summer 2000.
