Following the closure of the contract, each partner will own a 50% stake in the joint venture that will manage the four projects.

The proposed wind power projects will be located in the Aisne, Pas-de-Calais and Nord departments of northern France, the company said.

Under the agreement, EDF Energies Nouvelles will manage the construction of the wind power projects and will also provide asset management services after the commissioning of the projects, which is slated for 2014.

Commenting on the transaction, EDF Energies Nouvelles Strategy, M&A and DSSA executive vice president Emmanuel Jaclot said that the deal signed showcases the company’s opportunity to strengthen its wind energy portfolio in the country.

"It will also expand the partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation in renewable energies generation," added Jaclot.
