EDF EN Canada will now collaborate with MRC du Granit and MRC de la Mitis for the development of two 24.6MW wind facilities, respectively

Contracts for the facilities were awarded by Hydro-Quebec last year and construction work will begin once approval is sought from the Quebec Energy Board.

Both the projects will utilize the REpower 2.05MW turbine while electricity generation is expected by late 2014.

EDF EN Canada vice president Al Kurzenhauser said that the company’s Montreal based subsidiary, Saint Laurent Energies will manage the development and construction of the two community projects from its Montreal office.

EDF EN Canada is a unit of EDF Energies Nouvelles company.
