The two community wind projects, which include the REpower 2.05MW turbine, are expected to begin generating electricity in late 2014.

EDF EN Canada has joined with MRC du Granit and MRC de la Mitis for the development of these wind projects, which were awarded by Hydro-Quebec in December last year.

Saint Laurent Energies, which was recently acquired by EDF EN Canada, will manage the development and construction of the power projects from EDF EN Canada’s Montreal, Canada, office.

EDF EN Canada now has over 1GW of wind energy in development in Quebec, Canada.
