EDF EN Canada and Borea Construction entered into a limited notice to proceed for the construction of the $200m Saint-Robert-Bellarmin wind facility.
Under the agreement, Borea Construction will commence the study and preparatory work for construction of the power project, located in the municipality of Saint-Robert-Bellarmin of the MRC du Granit.
Turbine manufacturer REpower will deliver 40 wind turbines each with a generating capacity of 2MW, LM Wind will supply the blades from their Gaspesie facility, towers will be produced at the Marmen Matane plant and SEG Woodward will contribute the electrical converters from New Richmond.
The project will generate green energy to power the equivalent of about 18,000 Quebec homes.

The wind project is expected to achieve commercial operation by 2012.
