CEC funds bio-fuel production facilities in California, US under its Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program.
Edeniq’s cellulosic ethanol technology stands to gain from this funding by means of further development and enhancements including application of the technology to corn-based ethanol plants.
"The CEC has recognized Edeniq for our ongoing innovation, awarding a grant that allows us to continue expanding both in-lab innovation and commercialization programs," said Edeniq President and CEO Brian Thome.
Logos Technologies partnered Eneniq in the development of the cellulosic ethanol technology under a $25m program, funded 80% by the US Department of Energy.
Edeniq is look to use the new funding from CEC to scale up to production levels its pilot plant at Visalia in California, US that converts two dry tons per day of feedstock into cellulosic sugars and 50,000 gallons per year cellulosic ethanol.
