The ecoInsight energy audit tool will enable the users to electronically record information on a tablet PC or mobile device while walking through a building and then accordingly recommend lighting and electrical system upgrade to improve the building’s energy performance and operational costs.

The ecoInsight energy audit software is expected to simplify the audit process, including the demonstration of energy and cost savings of installing energy efficient equipment; and providing project-wide financial analysis including payback and return on investment, to serve customers.

Further, NAED’s energy audit platform powered by ecoInsight is expected to reduce the time needed to conduct an audit by 20-30% and also provide a competitive advantage for NAED’s member organizations, while increasing distributor sales of energy-efficient products.

ecoInsight and the NAED Energy Audit Task Force, who are working together to configure the new software ‘Lamps, Ballasts, Fixtures & Basic Lighting Controls’, expect to make the software available to NAED member companies in fourth quarter of 2010.
