Capable of generating electricity which will be sold to the national grid at the agreed "green" tariff, the plant would be the largest facility of this type in the country.

The Rokytne biogas project financing is part of the Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF), which is an investment facility of €140m (€100m from the EBRD and €40m from the CTF) designed to provide finance to private local enterprises wishing to invest in small renewable energy projects in Ukraine.

Additionally, the project’s strategic environmental assessment is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The financing package comprises a 10-year EBRD loan of up to €5.07m as well as a 15-year loan of up to €2.03m from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF).
