Eaton Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer, is collaborating with Cochran Marine to reduce cruise ship emissions and provide cleaner air quality in ports around the world.

With this agreement, Eaton is the exclusive manufacturer of Cochran’s automated shore power system for cruise ship vessels.

Eaton and Cochran will jointly convert Cochran’s 60Hz solution to support the global 50Hz market, which will allow them to install turn-key marine shore power at cruise ship terminals.

Eaton is providing manufacturing, engineering services and overseas turnkey project management capabilities.

Cochran’s Marine Shore Power system resides on the ship dock and allows equipped vessels to connect to electrical power through a closed transition process while in port.

Without powering down or turning off the lights, ship operators are able to turn off their engines and reduce carbon emissions up to 87 tons at each port stop.
