Eagle Creek Renewable Energy has acquired 1.5MW Newfound Hydro facility from a group of private investors.

Newfound Hydro, located on the Newfound River in Bristol, New Hampshire, was redeveloped in the early 1980’s on the former site of Bristol Hydroelectric. The original owners operated the facility for 27 years before selling the site to the private investors who have operated the facility since. Newfound is certified by the Low Impact Hydropower Institute and represents Eagle Creek’s eighth facility in New Hampshire.

The Newfound Hydro facility is expected to produce more than 6 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity in an average year, enough to power approximately 800 average New England homes. The acquisition of Newfound Hydro is Eagle Creek’s fourth since June 2014. With the acquisition, Eagle Creek now owns and operates 43 projects with a total installed capacity of 104 megawatts, producing nearly 410 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity in an average year.
