The Spanish Industry Ministry has decided to amend several critical aspects of the ruling by the National Energy Commission (CNE) concerning the proposed E.On acquisition of Endesa.

The decision follows an appeal by E.On over the level of asset divestments imposed by the CNE in order to approve the deal.

In a statement E.On said most importantly, the revised conditions of the Industry Ministry no longer contain any requirement to dispose of any assets.
