German power giant E.ON has announced a decision to file an appeal with the Spainish Ministry of Industry following a decision on its planned takeover of Spanish national power champion Endesa.

Spain’s Comisión Nacional de Energía (CNE) approved E.ON’s bid for Endesa, but imposed a number of conditions, including the requirement that E.ON divest about 7,600 MW of Endesa’s generating capacity in Spain.

In a statement E.ON has said it sees no justification for the conditions and will file an appeal over the next few days.
