The generating station began running at reduced power in July and went off line on 7 November after operators found that water in part of the cooling system had higher than normal amounts of hydrogen.
Located in Frenchtown Charter Township, the 1,100MW reactor began operating early 31 December 2012 at very low power, reports Monroe Evening News.
The power plant, which is operated by Detroit Edison, provides about 15% of DTE’s generating capacity in southeastern Michigan when at full power.
