The contract includes the design, fabrication and installation of an underground high pressure pump steel liner, bifurcation and a suction liner to link the lower lake with the high pressure radial pump.

The project is a technical challenge, as the pump steel liner has to be attached to an existing penstock using a bifurcation tool. The bifurcation has to be implemented into the steel lining by flame cutting and dismantling a section of the old penstock, which will be replaced with a new part.

Nestil-Tierfehd is located at the Linth valley in Kanton Glarus, northeastern Switzerland, approximately 100km southeast of the capital Zurich.

The works on site will start in early 2006 and completion is scheduled for April 2007.
