The PCI Data Security Standard (DSS), endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa, requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.

As a participating organization, Dresser Wayne will have access to the latest payment card security standards from the council and will be able to provide feedback on the standards.

Dresser Wayne noted that, in an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI DSS represents an entity’s best protection against data criminals.

Tim Weston, Dresser Wayne payment and security product manager, said: With product offerings that include in-dispenser secure payment technology and our Nucleus point-of-sale system, Dresser Wayne welcomes the opportunity to serve as a representative of the retail petroleum payment segment.
