Fuel dispenser maker Dresser Wayne and alternative fuels company Zarco 66 have announced the opening of the Zarco 66 Environmental Protection Agency-designated Green Gateway fuel station in Lawrence, Kansas.

Zarco 66 has reportedly leveraged Dresser Wayne technology along with earth-conscious practices to transform an existing fueling station into an eco-friendly site. With only alternative fuels, it is expected to showcase the ways in which other fuel stations can go green and offer consumers a lower-priced alternative to gasoline.

Prices at the Zarco 66 station can reportedly be as much as $0.50 per gallon compared to traditional fuels. Ethanol blends, on-road and off-road biodiesel are produced within 75 miles of the facility.

The Xflo meter at the facility is said to guarantee accurately blended alternative fuel products, while environmental videos are displayed on the iX Media screens in the fuel dispensers.

The fueling station will also have other environmentally friendly features like wind turbines and solar panels for electricity, roof and rain gardens to reduce urban heat-island effect and storm water runoff.
