Dresser Masoneilan will supply manufacturing, design, installation and support services for the supply process control valves and actuators inside and outside the containment area.
Dresser Masoneilan’s valves are designed to be leak proof and meet the seismic and environmental qualifications required in nuclear power plant design, the company said.
Guangdong Taishan is scheduled to begin operation in 2013 as part of China’s initiative to reduce carbon emissions by replacing coal with nuclear-based power for a portion of the country’s growing energy demands.
Eric Strecker, vice president of sales, Asia Pacific at Dresser, Flow Technologies, said: “Dresser Masoneilan has a history of delivering leading technical capabilities, high safety standards and aftermarket services that will be crucial factors in this project’s success.
“Our unique set of capabilities will contribute to the goal of reducing China’s carbon emissions and fulfilling the country’s growing energy demands in a safer and cleaner way.”
