DP&L Certified HVAC Tune-Ups will help systems perform efficiently, saving an estimated average of $35 per year for air conditioners and $80 per year for heat pumps, the company claimed. These tune-ups can also help systems last longer and reduce maintenance.
Participating technicians underwent three days of training on the 25-point certified tune-up process using digital equipment and software. Depending on the work that is completed on each DP&L Certified HVAC Tune-Up, DP&L pays participating local contractors from $40 to $110 per unit.
DP&L said that its payment helps compensate the contractors for their additional time; and its training helps contractors provide customers with a efficient tune-up. Ultimately, the overall price of a HVAC tune-up is determined by the contractor, so customers are encouraged to shop around.
DP&L Certified HVAC Tune-Ups are part of DP&L’s ongoing energy efficiency efforts. The energy efficiency initiatives will help customers save money and will help to meet Ohio’s energy efficiency targets to reduce electricity consumption by 22% by the end of 2025.
Bryce Nickel, vice president of service operations at DP&L, said: ”The goal is to help customers reduce costs by increasing the efficiency of their systems without sacrificing comfort.
