Proposed water rationing in the Malaysian Klang Valley has been called off, thanks to a recent heavy downpour in the country.
The Sungai Tinggi dam in Kuala Selangor reported 34mm of rainfall. Four other dams in the area reported rainfall of 2-5.5mm.
The rainfall was heaviest in downstream areas – boosting raw supply at the dams and rivers.
But local meteorologists were hoping for rain in upstream areas, which could be tapped as it flowed through the tributaries before making its way to the main rivers.
