The company has replaced more than 700 transformers so far in residential areas of Northern Virginia, Central Virginia and the Hampton Roads area.
Dominion will also replace an additional 1,400 transformers in Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Hampton, Alexandria, Springfield and Richmond.
According to the company, the $20m transformer replacement program is expected to be completed next year.
The company plans to spend more than $1.7bn on its reliability programs over the next two years.
