Dolomit, a producer of dolomite powder in Belarus, says it will build a mini hydroelectric power plant at one of its production facilities in Gralevo, according to the Interfax news agency. This is within a company programme aimed at saving energy.

Construction of the plant, which will be completed by 2006, will facilitate savings of around 7MkWh of electricity each year. Dolomit’s current annual electricity consumption stands at 120MkWh, with electricity accounting for around 40% of total production costs.
