The Mersey Docks and Harbour Co has installed six wind turbines at the Port of Liverpool. The units are 50 m high and have three blade rotors. Each is capable of generating 600 kWe.
The units have been placed well inside the area of the docks to blend with existing dock structures such as gantry crates. Power from the wind generators will be sold to the government-backed Non Fossil Purchasing Agency.
