The indicated mineral resources at the project are estimated to have 42.9m pounds U3O8 at an average grade of 5.5% and inferred mineral resources of 400,000 pounds at an average grade of 0.8%.

Denison Mines president and CEO Ron Hochstein said, "the approval of this EA has taken over six years and been an arduous process and is a key milestone in the development of this project."

The Midwest uranium project will be carried out by the joint venture (JV) partners AREVA Resources Canada, Denison, and OURD Canada each with 69.16%, 25.17%, and 5.67% interest respectively.

The EA was based on mining the Midwest deposit by conventional open pit mining methods and the JV partners are evaluating other potential mining methods.

Other methods include conventional underground and surface jet bore drilling, using the surface access borehole resource extraction (SABRE) mining technology and open pit.

A three hole test mining program of the SABRE mining technology is underway on the McClean property.
