Delta Electronics, a provider of power management solutions, has unveiled new generation of its medium to high power uninterruptible power supply (UPS) product – NH Plus series.

The NH Plus series is designed with a space-saving modular structure. The series is expected to deliver low total cost of ownership in terms of both capital expenses and operation expenses.

Delta said that the series maintains 94% efficiency even under 40% loading conditions. Due to its power efficiency, the NH Plus series can help customer save electricity bill and reduce carbon footprint compared to traditional UPS with power efficiency of 88%.

Another cost reduction feature of the series is said to be its modular structure with hot-swappable feature. Each power module delivers 20kVA high power density in a 3U height chassis. Total power options include 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120kVA in two different cabinet styles. With this modular design, the NH Plus series will allow IT managers to protect their data center facilities from power fluctuations, resulting in lower initial acquisition costs. Furthermore, the design will also render minimized mean time to repair (MTTR) and increase system availability and uptime to six 9’s.

The NH Plus series will ensure reliability through N+X power module redundancy which saves space required for at least 50% compared with traditional 1+1 system redundancy, the company said.

Charles Tsai, general manger of renewable energy and UPS business unit at Delta Electronics, said: “Growing environmental concerns and limited resources are affecting everyone, and companies in every industry are taking steps to decrease electricity costs. Delta has designed the NH Plus series UPS to assist customers in reducing waste and conserving energy, as well as reducing the cost of running their business.

“The new NH Plus series evolved from its predecessor, the NH series, in which Delta fulfilled customers’ increasing demands for transformer-less UPS for higher efficiency and smaller space required. Delta continuously devotes extensive R&D resources to advanced UPS technologies with the vision of ensuring customers’ business continuity with very competitive cost performance.”
