Under the six-year contract, D&Z’s engineering, construction and maintenance (ECM) group will support the Unit 1 and 2 of the Alvin W Vogtle electric generating plant near Waynesboro, Georgia, the Edwin I Hatch nuclear plant near Baxley, Georgia and the Joseph M Farley nuclear plant near Dothan, Alabama.

The company also secured a three-year staff augmentation contract to provide radiation protection and decontamination services fleetwide.

Southern Nuclear fleet operations vice-president Dennis Madison said: "We anticipate a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with D&Z that will strategically position us for years of continued safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy production."

Work under the contract is scheduled to commence in July 2015.

Southern Nuclear operates six nuclear units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power.

D&Z provides plant lifecycle solutions for the power, process and industrial markets.
