China Knowledge reports that Datang International Power Generation Co, China’s second largest publically-traded power supplier, proposes to invest CNY 8 billion in the construction of an integrated gasification combined cycle project in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The project will be located in Ningdong Energy & Chemical Base which is 40 km from Yinchuan, capital of the region.
Datang Power said that the project will consist of two 400 MW generators. Ningdong Energy & Chemical Base located on the Ningdong coalfield aims to develop into a large coal base, coal chemical industry base and thermal power base by 2020, becoming the main source of China’s west-to-east electricity transmission plans by that date.
