Of all block awards, the company has won block 13/23d situated west of the Blake filed in the Inner Moray Firth of North Sea, and will hold 100% interest in it and will be the operator.
The company is planning to drill the block in 2014.
Dana Petroleum UK managing director Paul Griffin said the company has gained from the licensing round and will invest in North Sea to expand its exploration portfolio.
"The newly awarded blocks will provide our UK business with new opportunities to add reserves as we aim to meet our growth target of 100,000 boepd by 2016," Griffin added.
"The awards follow successful outcomes from both of the exploration wells we’ve drilled so far this year; Platypus in the Southern North Sea and Contender in the Northern North Sea."
Dana has won 50% interest and operatorship in blocks 217/22, 217/23, 217/24, 217/25, 217/29 and 217/30 which are situated in the West of Shetlands for which it will obtain and reprocess 2D seismic.
The company, in partnership with Talisman has also won 35% interest in 29/17, 29/18 (part), 29/22 (part) and 29/23 (part) in the Central North Sea and will shoot 3D seismic survey.
Dana in partnership with E.ON secured 50% in block 48/1e; and 40% interest in 208/6 & 208/7 blocks with DONG.
A group of DONG (35%), GDF Suez (25%), Nexen (25%), and Dana (15%) gained a frontier licensing to explore 209/9 (part), 209/10 (part), 209/11 (part), 209/12, 209/13, 209/14 (part), 209/16 (part) & 209/17 (part).
