Repairs are expected to be underway soon at the 91 year old Medina dam on the Medina river in Texas, after the structures safety and stability were called into question during last summers flooding in the region.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the Bexar Metropolitan Water District’s board hired a contractor for US$738,685 to make repairs to the downstream side of the dam’s three outlet gates. An automated data system to monitor the stability of the dam will also be installed.
