The Dak Srong Joint Stock Company has begun construction of the Dak Srong hydroelectric power plant on the Ba river in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

According to the Vietnamese News Agency, the plant will have a capacity of 18MW, comprising three generating units, and will start operation in the second quarter of 2008. It will cost US$19.7M to construct.

This is the third hydroelectric power plant to be built on the Ba river. The first two plants are the Ba Ha and the An Khe-Ka Nat.
