The company has attributed unfavorable geological conditions in the site’s headgate area for the suspension of operations.
Employees at the mine are working to mitigate the conditions that halted the productions. However, the mine is on idle status as of 15 July, and coal shipments from the site have stopped.
Cumberland expects the production at the mine to resume after several weeks. During this period, the mine will have a reduced workforce.
