Energy-to-waste project developer Covanta Holding has appointed Allard Nooy as the president of Covanta Asia Pacific, effective immediately. He will be based in Shanghai, China.
Covanta noted that Mr Nooy has extensive experience working with municipal governments to develop infrastructure projects throughout Asia.
He was previously the regional director of infrastructure development for Leighton Asia, where he has managed Leighton’s business in China as well as infrastructure development and investment activities throughout Asia since 2004.
Prior to his appointment with Leighton, Mr Nooy was Thames Water International’s regional director for Greater China, where he initiated and led transactions in China and Hong Kong.
Before joining Thames Water, he was the general manager of the international engineering, procurement and construction group, Vermeer-Ballast Nedam’s Southeast Asian operations, based in Vietnam.
