In June 2010, the company unveiled plans to sell its equity interests in four fossil fuel facilities in the Philippines, India and Bangladesh.

Covanta president and CEO Anthony Orlando said that selling interests in the Quezon project and other fossil fuel assets enables the company to continue sharpening its focus on its core energy-from-waste business.

The sale of the interests in four facilities is expected to generate total gross proceeds of $270m – $290m.

Covanta is an owner and operator of large scale energy-from-waste and renewable energy projects.
