Nuclear

A Connecticut judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by Fish Unlimited to shut the Millstone nuclear power station. The non-profit fisherman’s group sued to have the plant shut, alleging that Northeast Utilities which runs the power station, was operating with an expired cooling water discharge licence. However the judge found that the permit was valid.

Fish Unlimited had already had an injunction to prevent the restart of Millstone 2 disallowed. The group plans to appeal.
