Constellation Energy’s retail business built, owns and maintains the solar power system.
The electricity generated by the solar panels will be sold to the city at a fixed rate from Constellation Energy under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
Vineland’s solar power system is comprised of about 27,896 photovoltaic panels, ground-mounted at two locations 4MW in West Vineland and 2.5MW in North Vineland.
The project is expected to generate nearly 10 million kWh of electricity per year.
Constellation Energy acquired Vineland’s 6.5MW project pre-construction from solar power developer Community Energy Solar in early 2011.
