Constellation Energy will own and maintain the solar installation, comprising of nearly 19,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
The solar power system is expected to supply about 7,000MWh of electricity annually.
The electricity generated by the solar power system will be sold to DIA over a 20-year period.
US-based solar development firm Oak Leaf Energy Partners originally developed the project; its third at DIA.
Yingli Green Energy supplied the PV panels for the project, that has been installed by Quanta Services Intermountain Electric.
DIA aviation manager Kim Day said with the addition of this solar facility, DIA’s three solar array systems now produce about six percent of the airport’s total power requirements.
