Most hydroelectric utilities are still run as cost control centres, even when operating in a deregulated or re-regulated energy market environment. There are significant opportunities to increase value from existing hydro plants through improved operations and replacing ageing assets with more modern, more efficient designs. This panel will look at trends in North America and Western Europe and explain how they may be applicable to Eastern Europe.
