The company claims that businesses in Pennsylvania’s PPL territory can avoid electric rate increases ranging from 19 to 37% by partnering with ConEdison Solutions.

Jorge Lopez, president and CEO of ConEdison, said: “Once price caps disappear at the end of 2009, businesses in the PPL territory will confront major increases in electricity spending. ConEdison Solutions offers innovative buying options to help Pennsylvania businesses control budgets, manage risk, and use energy more efficiently.”

The projected increases will go into effect in January 2010, once price controls are lifted on PPL rates, said the company.

PPL and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission estimate that prices will increase 19% for small businesses and 37% for mid-size businesses, in January 2010. Price increase projections for large businesses have not yet been confirmed.
