The new agreement continues the relationship between Comverge and NV Energy and follows the two-year build-out of more than 100MW of residential and small commercial load reduction.
Under the new agreement, Comverge will continue to manage its 143MW program and build-out an additional 12MW, bringing the program total to more than 155MW. The company will also provide its SuperStat programmable communicating thermostats.
In addition, NV Energy and Comverge may explore additional demand response technologies to support their advanced service delivery (ASD) roll-out, further future-proofing their current and future smart grid initiatives.
In May 2007, Comverge announced its contract with NV Energy to provide 100MW of demand response capacity beyond the approximately 23MW NV Energy had previously built-out. In 2008, the contract was expanded by an additional 20MW and by 2009 the companies achieved 143MW of installed capacity.
