The exploration plan was approved by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE).

Although this approval is an important step in the well permitting process, Cobalt is uncertain as to when it will be able to resume drilling operations on the North Platte #1 exploratory well

The resumption of the drilling program is subject the other steps in the process that remain to be completed, notably satisfaction of Notice to Lessee (NTL) No 2010-N10 and BOEMRE’s approval of the drilling permit (APD) for this well.

The company intends to drill the North Platte #1 well with the Ensco 8503 rig.

Cobalt is the operator of the North Platte prospect with a 60% working interest, with Total E&P USA, owning the remaining 40% working interest.
