The Nicaraguan utility Empresa Nicaraguense de Electricidad has signed a 15 year power purchase agreement with Coastal Power which will allow the US company and its partners to construct a 50 MW diesel power plant near the capital, Managua.
The plant will be designed and built by Wärtsilä-NSD. Work is due to begin during this quarter. Coastal and its partners will own and operate the facility. A subsidiary of Coastal will supply the fuel for the power station.
