The company drilled the well into the Miocene reservoir on the western side of the Bua Ban North field.
The well, the first horizontal development well drilled at the Bua Ban North field, encountered 1,185ft of high quality net pay in the horizontal section.
The company drilled the lateral section at about 3,695ft TVD, which is 130ft above the known water level.
Coastal Energy said that the A-10 well has been completed with a submersible pump and is ready to commence production.
