These new projects represented 4% of Australia’s overall electricity capacity.

Overall production capacity of the 10 projects is 1,880 megawatts (MW) and involves six gas-fired generators, two biomass projects and two wind projects.

Abare reported that out of total proposed projects, 22 are in an advanced phase. The advanced projects represent 10% of the country’s overall production capacity.

Abare also asserted that wind energy represents more than 80% of committed additions to renewable power.
