The continuous catalytic reforming (CCR) unit at the 20.5 million-ton-per-annum (MTPA) Dalian Petrochemical refinery is reportedly designed for sour oil processing. Its construction began in June 2006.

The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) said that by using naphtha and catalytic reformate output from distillation and hydrocracking units as its raw materials, this unit will mainly yield high-octane gasoline component, benzene, xylene and hydrogen. The unit produces aorund 110,000 cubic meters of hydrogen per hour.
