According to the company, Bozhong 22-1 has an average water depth of about 25m and is located in the south central Bohai.
CNOOC, which drilled the discovery well Bozhong 22-1-2, completed at a depth of 4,611m and encountered gas reservoir with a total thickness of about 92m.
The gas production of the well was tested around 14.2 million cubic feet per day.
The company claims that the discovery demonstrates buried hills prospects for future gas exploration of south slope in Bozhong Sag.
